After spending a year working in a
lovely shop in Venice, Ca, my love for the beach cottage look was instilled deep. The calming neutrals, rustic accents and crisp whites make my heart swoon.
In my own home, I tried to branch out and use color on my walls, and if you know me, this is WAY out of the norm for me. Beachy tones, whites tans and creams are my happy place. I often find myself sitting in my living room asking..." what were you thinking?!" but since my husband and father- law spent a summer painting the house the colors that
I wanted, I couldn't bear the thought of asking them to do it again.
As you can see- the over sized brown sofas, blue walls and carpet are really making a statement. it's just too much blue for me.
This summer my husband and I are planning on doing a bunch of home improvements, and I could not be happier! We are finally getting rid of the ugly blue carpet we have! and yes- we are going to repaint over the pretty blue walls I once loved. here is the look we will be going for to match the rest of my neutral home.

Any thoughts?? I can't wait to share the transformations...
